On July 1st we left the building and went to Rice Street near the airport. We went to a house that had been one of the blitz construction projects that was not quite finished. The paint had gotten on the windows so we had to get all of that off. The yard needed attention so we mowed and that. And we picked up the trash that was in the backyard. Once we had finished we went to the recycling place to trade the 45 pounds of cans for money for Casa. After that we went back to the building and ate lunch. It was fun and we compleed a project that needed completing. Be sure to come to Share Him on the 15th.

On Tuesday morning, everyone met up at the church building and scrambled into the people mover. We drove towards Trent’s house so he could pick up something and then we headed in the direction of the children’s home of Lubbock. As we pulled into the Children’s home, the bus moved toward a few car washing supplies and we stopped in front of them. After we waited in the bus for a little bit, Matt started waving his hands and we slowly got out of the bus. A truck was already parked there beside the car wash stuff and we then started washing it. After some soapy water was scrubbed all over the pick up, we rinsed and dried it then quite a few more cars pulled in and that’s where our work began. We scrubbed all the water on the cars and moved onto a new one after finishing the one we had been working on. The teens all worked on for three hours, washing each car that drove up. After 20 or so cars, we had finished washing a lot of the Children’s Home people’s cars. We were ready for lunch! We got into the bus and ate our lunches. After finishing our sack lunches, we stopped at a park close to Anna Beth’s house and got out and some sat down on the playground, other people had obstacle course races with Trent and then a few called random people on Tanner’s phone because they had nothing else to do. After being on the playground for about half an hour, Mike Cabe took a quick group picture of all the teens before heading over to Anna Beth’s house to drop her off so she could go to her dentist appointment at 1:30. After leaving her house, we headed back to the church building so we could go home to rest and glorify God in what other ways we found to. We had a good time washing cars outside of the Children’s home. Don’t miss the next Share Him on Tuesday from 9-2 for a fun, adventurous time to serve others!
